Up early with Mae this morning. Paying for the 7:20 wake up yesterday. As usual Ozzie the silkie rooster starts a chorus of cockadoodledoos between him and the other two Roosters. With a chilly night, Walter, our needy cat was glued to Beth under the covers all night.  Walter is quite literally obsessed with Beth. When we adopted him as a 4 week old kitten he was less than half a pound, with pneumonia and such a high parasite count that he had a pretty severe heart murmur. Beth was up early this morning to get the critters taken care of before heading off to work at the vet today. Mae slept until 7:20am. Hallelujah. Dan has munchkin duty today. Sees our silke roo loose and get all scratched up trying to catch him. Boo. Last night he stayed up working on the label redesign for our products. To incorporate our new logo. As summer winds down last night was perfect sleeping weather, windows cracked open! Sitting here writing this listening to the roos crow, one thing sticks out in our life right now. A morning in the life of us.

As usual Mae woke up super early like the true farmer she is! We checked on the batch of candles that Dan made last night including our yummy layered smores candle. I set Mae up with a silly youtube video of cartoon animals slopping around in the mud (her laughter at this video is so animated and silly) so that I could let the chickens,ducks and Matilda the Saint rabbit outside and throw the goats more hay. Mae does best if we keep busy, so to work we went cheese making,freezing homegrown kale, dehydrating bananas and blanching our own summer...
